Meghan McRoberts is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and evening anchor for WPTV and FOX 29. Since joining the stations in 2013, she has built a reputation for impactful storytelling, in-depth reporting, and trusted on-air presence. Prior to moving to Florida, she spent two years reporting in Omaha, Nebraska.
Meghan began her career at WPTV as a reporter in the Treasure Coast bureau, where she covered a wide range of stories—often exclusively—from breaking crime and court news to politics, environmental issues, health, and animal welfare. Her passion for animal advocacy has led to several major investigations, including the criminal probe and eventual restructuring of a local Humane Society.
Her reporting has sparked criminal investigations, public health inquiries, and policy changes. Notable examples include coverage that prompted a health department probe into a suspected cancer cluster, expanded maternity benefits for firefighters, and increased awareness of the Treasure Coast's toxic algae crisis. Meghan has also reported from the front lines of numerous hurricanes, including a Category 5 storm in the Florida Panhandle and major storms in the Bahamas.
In 2023, she joined the FOX 29 morning anchor desk and was promoted to evening anchor in 2024. She now anchors the 5:30 and 6 p.m. newscasts on WPTV, and the 6:30 and 10 p.m. shows on FOX 29.
A graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Telecommunication and Film, Meghan is also a licensed private pilot and a proud dog mom.
