MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman charged with DUI manslaughter in the death of a Delray Beach police officer in Key West is expected to take a plea deal on Friday.

A plea hearing is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. for 33-year-old Lacy Morris in Monroe County court.

Prosecutors said Morris was under the influence when she hit and killed Delray Beach police officer Christine Braswell on April 8, 2017.

Braswell was on vacation and riding a scooter at the time of the crash.

Braswell's mother filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Morris last year, seeking damages in excess of $15,000.
