FORT PIERCE, Fla. — An elderly couple was found dead inside a Fort Pierce condo on Tuesday, and their adult son is a person of interest, police said.
The suspicious deaths occurred at the Harbour Isle at Hutchinson Island condominium complex.
Police said they were called to the condo after they received a welfare check call from the couple's daughter.
Officers said the couple's son, who is in his 50s, was spotted leaving the area and drove to Indian River County.
Deputies with the Indian River County Sheriff's Office caught the son, whose name has not been released, and took him into custody.
The names of the man and woman have not been released.
Police said the case is still in the early stages of investigation.
No other details were immediately available.
