A Singer Island man charged with stabbing his wife to death on Friday will go before a judge next month.
On Monday, James Huhta, 78, was moved to the Palm Beach County Jail from St. Mary's Medical Center.
Police said Huhta killed his wife, Mary, by stabbing her in the stomach early Friday morning inside their home at the Eastpointe condominium complex located 5380 North Ocean Dr.
According to a police report, James Huhta woke up at 4:30 a.m. Friday feeling distraught, went into the kitchen and grabbed a knife. He then went into his wife's bedroom and then attacked her.
He told police he tried to kill himself by overdosing on insulin before jumping off a second-floor balcony. A maintenance worker later found him in the bushes.
Huhta said he felt overwhelmed because the couple was moving.
He has been charged with first-degree murder.
