Riviera Beach police say a husband is suspected of fatally stabbing his wife and then jumping or falling from a third story condo in Singer Island.

Investigators say a maintenance worker found the man on the ground in his underwear. He was taken St. Mary's Medical Center for treatment.

Police say Riviera Beach Fire Rescue went to the man’s apartment to tell his wife and that's when they found her unresponsive in a back bedroom.

She was discovered lying near a pillow at the Eastpointe condominium complex at 5380 North Ocean Drive, according to police.

Police identified the husband as 78-year-old James Huhta and his wife as 79-year-old Mary Huhta.

James Huhta is currently hospitalized. Police say he has confessed.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Riviera Beach Police Department at 561.845.4123, or the Riviera Beach Police Investigations Unit at 561-840-4813 and ask to speak with either Detective Weiner or Detective Ramsey.
