PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A Port St. Lucie woman is praising police for responding to calls big or small overnight.

Jeanne Vicario called police when her tree fell Sunday night and branches were blocking the road.

She says an officer didn’t hesitate to break out his own tools to make sure drivers were safe.

“The officer came out and he began chopping off the leaves with his machete that he took out of his trunk. He made a clear path so it would be safe." said Vicario. "It was pouring and so windy when he was here, but he even took the time to take off my security camera and my solar charger.”

“He couldn’t just gotten back in his car and said well, well call the city tomorrow or you know," said Vicario. "He even tried to move the tree.”
