WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The morning starts relatively quiet across Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, making the first half of the day the better window for outdoor plans. As temperatures climb into the low to mid-90s, scattered showers and thunderstorms will begin developing during the afternoon and continue into the evening.

For Palm Beach County, storms should initially favor inland areas before outflow boundaries and the sea breeze could help bring some activity closer to the coast.

Across the Treasure Coast, rain chances are somewhat lower than areas farther north, but storms that do develop could still become strong.

While temperatures aren't quite as extreme as the record-challenging heat we experienced earlier in the week, don't put away the water bottle just yet.

Highs will generally reach the low to mid-90s Sunday. Humidity will push peak heat index values into the 100-105 degree range across much of the area, with some locations briefly reaching 105-110 degrees. Across the Treasure Coast, peak heat indices around 102-107 degrees are possible.

Rain chances decrease tomorrow as some drier air works into the area. The Treasure Coast is looking at only about a 20-30% chance for afternoon storms Monday, with slightly higher chances returning Tuesday.

By Wednesday, deeper moisture returns and we'll transition back toward our more typical summertime setup, with daily afternoon showers and thunderstorms continuing through the second half of the week.
