WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — As our drought continues to worsen, fire concerns remain in place with dry conditions and gusty winds.

With most of the evening in the 70s, it won't be as chilly overnight. Lows will fall into the mid 60 for the Palm Beaches and just below 60 in the Treasure Coast as well as Okeechobee County. Patchy fog could mix with smoke in the air and cause visibility issues on the roadways before dawn.

Moisture continues to increase on Friday as a weakening front approaches the Florida Peninsula. Rain chances will gradually rise late in the day with spotty showers and some rumbles of thunder. Highs will approach the mid 80s.

Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible on Saturday. Rain totals will likely be variable with most areas near half-an-inch and isolated areas over an inch.

Any rain would be beneficial given the ongoing dry conditions.

Behind the front, slightly cooler yet seasonable air filters in overnight with lows in the upper 50s-lower 60s. On Sunday, a few, spotty showers could move onshore at times. Otherwise, it will be a warm day with a mix of sun and clouds.

At the beaches, rip currents start to subside but still remain a moderate threat on Friday. As always, beachgoers are urged to swim near lifeguards and remain cautious in the surf.
