WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Finally, a break from our abnormally high heat is on the way, and just in time for the holiday weekend!

A cold front that's currently bringing bitterly cold air to northern states like Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas will move into South Florida as we head into the weekend.

That front will cause temperatures to finally drop to more seasonable levels on Saturday and Sunday, making for a cooler and absolutely gorgeous weekend.

You can expect highs around 80 degrees on both days, and lows in the upper 60s with very low rain chances.

The nice weather will stick around on Monday for Veterans Day with highs in the low 80s, and lows in the upper 60s, again with low rain chances.

During this time of year, South Floridians wait for that first front that signals the time of the changing seasons.

Our first taste of Fall usually comes in around Halloween, that anticipated cold front swinging through ushering in cooler air, or at least cooler by South Florida standards.

Typically during this time of year, lows should start off in the upper 60s and highs should be in the low 80s. However, for the last few weeks, highs and lows have been flirting well-above normal.

The few fronts that have come close to cooling us down have stalled out, keeping South Florida under a relatively warm pattern.

It's no surprise a lot of folks have been asking, where is that cold front?

Well, finally the wait is over.

WPTV Storm Team 5 says our first cold front will swing down this weekend, making way for a refreshing weekend with cooler and less humid air.

It won't be a big cool down, but it will definitely give your A/C a little break, and you may need a light sweater before you head out the door Saturday and Sunday morning.

Then next week, another cold front is expected to sweep in and keep temperatures Fall-like through next week.
