Karen weakens to a depression

Tropical Storm Karen has been downgraded to a depression.

And then there was one.

There is just one strong tropical system left in the Atlantic when just a few days ago there were three named storms.

Hurricane Lorenzo has 140 mph winds, but the Category 4 storm is far out at sea. However, it could eventually affect the Azores.

Karen is now a depression and could become a remnant low or degenerate into a trough at any time, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Karen is moving toward the east, northeast near 8 mph with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph.
