ORLANDO, Fla. -- President- Elect Donald Trump returned to Florida for his first time since winning the presidential election for his ’Thank You’ tour.
Trump has been visiting the states that helped him clinch the presidency to express his gratitude and talk about his presidential plans.
Friday, more than 11,000 of his supporters welcomed him to the Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orlando.
He spoke to the crowd for nearly an hour, many times boasting about his election win, but also giving credit to Florida voters.
“I love this state. I love the people. You propelled to victory a grassroots movement, the likes of which the world has never seen before,” Trump said.
For the majority of the time, he discussed what he hopes to achieve in the next 4 years at home and abroad.
“At home, our infrastructure is crumbling. Our schools are failing. Our workers can’t find good paying jobs. Oh, we’re going to change that so fast your heads are going to spin,” Trump said.
When it came to the economy, the crowd chanted with him, “jobs, jobs, jobs.”
He talked about helping veterans, immigration reform and strengthening the military.
He also discussed creating safe zones in Syria so there would not be a need for them to seek refuge in the United States.
Trump spoke about unifying the country.
“We will love everyone, not segments, not large groups. We will love everyone,” Trump said.
“I’m so happy that he’s going to be our president,” said supporter Barbara Delgrosso. “I think it’s really honorable that he comes out and thanks people for voting for him.”
“It was the first time for me to vote. I really supported this guy and wanted something to change. It was a big movement for a lot of young voters,” said supporter Hunter Bransnter. “It’s kind of nice to come see a part of history.”
Trump will make his next stop on the tour Saturday in Mobile, Alabama.
