A traffic stop by a trooper in Sumter County led to the discovery of 12 kilos of cocaine, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

During the noon hour Tuesday, troopers pulled over a Dodge Journey heading south on I-75 near the 310 mile marker, after they suspected illegal window tinting on the vehicle.

Authorities said the driver "became overtly nervous."

A K-9 was called and a search revealed the cocaine hidden in the dashboard and other areas of the vehicle, investigators said.

According to FHP, the cocaine is worth roughly $1.2 million.

The driver faces cocaine trafficking charges.
