During a listening session at the White House on Wednesday with Parkland school shooting witnesses and family members of victims, President Donald Trump suggested arming teachers and school staff that are "very adept" with weapons.
He followed up those statements with multiple tweets, doubling down on the idea and suggesting bonuses for teachers who carry.
On Friday, Florida lawmakers announced that their plan to curb school shootings also includes arming teachers.
