TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The state is helping families get a jump-start saving for their child's college.

The Florida Prepaid College Board is waiving the $50 application fee for families signing up for a prepaid plan.

However, the waiver ends after Saturday. Just use the promo code 30YEARS.

Families can purchase a four-year Florida University Plan for a newborn for as low as $187 a month, a two-year college plan for $55 a month or a four-year Florida College Plan for less than $120 a month.

More than 20,000 Florida Prepaid Plans have already been started this open enrollment period.

Open enrollment for the program ends on April 30.
