WEEKI WACHEE, Fla. (AP) -- One person has died and several students are being treated at a hospital after a pickup truck crashed into a school bus in Florida.
The truck crashed into the bus that was carrying students to Winding Waters school on Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Six of the 48 students on the bus were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the agency said in a news release.
The truck was traveling behind the bus, which stopped to let a pedestrian cross the rod. The truck failed to stop and crashed into the bus, the accident report said.
The truck driver died at the scene, troopers said. The driver's name has not been released. The report said the bus driver was not injured.
