PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — The Port St. Lucie Police Department said Wednesday morning it's investigating a suspicious death after a man was found dead in a wooded lot.
Around 7:20 a.m., police went to the 200 block of SW Becker Rd. for reports of a dead person.
Officers arrived and found the body of an unidentified man lying on the ground by the wooded lot, a few feet from the canal.
Police later said they spoke with the mother of the deceased and said that detectives confirmed the man died by suicide from a gunshot wound.
