PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A St. Lucie County woman is hitting the gas and making a big name for herself in the motocross world.

Champion rider 21-year-old Kylie Fasnacht, whose family runs a training facility in Port St. Lucie, was recently invited to join Team USA motocross.

"Definitely unexpected call, but I'm willing to do the work and see how it goes when we get over there," said Fasnacht.

As a member of Team USA, Fasnacht will travel to Poland to compete in the Women’s Motocross of European Nations this year.

"You have to be physically fit, and not only physically fit but mentally fit to be able to do this sport," said Fasnacht.

Fasnacht, who started riding when she was just 3 years old, has won three national titles at the Women’s Motocross Championship.

"When you get late into the races you just start to talk to yourself mentally as you're going, and you're like, man, I feel tired, but you have to remind yourself how strong you are and that you are able to keep it controlled," said Fasnacht.

In addition to competing worldwide, Fasnacht is also a motocross trainer at the Fasnacht Training Facility in Port St. Lucie.

Through her success, Fasnacht wants to send a special message to young people.

"Follow your dreams," said Fasnacht. "If you have a dream or something you enjoy doing, keep at it and you never know where it can take you in life."
