FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Two men are under arrest after two people were wounded in a shooting Wednesday evening, according to Fort Pierce police.

Officers responded to shooting activity in the 3000 block of Avenue M at about 7:41 p.m.

Two victims were transported to a local hospital for injuries described as not life threatening.

Fort Pierce police say the department's crime suppression unit, along with deputies with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office, quickly took Javaris Allen into custody.

Detectives and deputies said they found a vehicle used in the shooting and also arrested the driver identified as Jakeem Everett.

Police said Allen, 20, and Everett, 22, and both are from Fort Pierce.

Allen faces charges of attempted homicide and aggravated battery while Everett faces two counts of accessory after the fact and driving with a suspended or revoked license, officials said.

The investigation is not over and police ask anyone with information to call Detective Jeffrey Wachendorfer at 772-467-6957, or 772-577-0083 or after hours at 772-467-6800.
