The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s said two people were killed Thursday evening after an 80-year-old woman crashed her vehicle into a Publix, killing herself and a pedestrian.
The incident occurred at 5:09 p.m. at a Publix located at the intersection of Lake Ida and Jog roads.
Investigators said the driver, identified as Sarah Agosta, was driving a 2018 Kia Soul when she lost control and accelerated toward the grocery store.
A pedestrian, identified as Eric Small, 71, had exited the Publix and was walking west toward his car.
The Kia Soul hit Small first and then the Publix, according to a PBSO report.
Agosta and Small were transported to Delray Medical Center where they both died of their injuries.
