DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — It was a celebration fit for a king. You could say Phil Goldstein is a popular guy.
"Very popular," Shari Young said.
He's built up this reputation over quite some time. To be specific 100 years.
"Phil demonstrates that age is just a number," Young said.
Whether it was serving our country in World War II or serving his community as a volunteer for the Delray Police Department. Goldstein dedicated his life to service and Thursday his friends and family said thank you.
"Just to let you know it is the most gratifying that I have all of these friends," Goldstein said. "It's just wonderful."
He attributes his long life to his late wife's cooking.
"Meatballs and spaghetti," he said.
He has this advice for other people looking to live a full life.
"My advice to someone is volunteer," he said.
