DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Delray Beach police have identified a man they now say was shot to death in the city.

The body of 29-year-old Tyler Jamar Pearson was discovered Sunday inside his Linton Ridge apartment.

According to police, neighbors smelled an unusual odor coming from the apartment located in 2200 block of Linton Ridge Circle.

Residents said the apartment, which is usually busy, had been quiet for a few days.

Police say when they entered apartment G-10, they found Pearson dead of gunshot wounds. They are investigating the case as a homicide.

Officers had first responded to the apartment complex on Thursday night after an anonymous resident reported gunshots. When officers arrived, they said they didn’t find any evidence of a shooting or anyone who heard gunfire.
