Parents with children at Carver Middle School in Delray Beach say their bus hasn’t been showing up on time.

Four children use the bus stop near Lake Ida Road and Military Trail. Erica Sabo said her two sons, Aric and AJ, are showing up late to school because of the bus now showing up.

“My children will call me 10 minutes after 9 a.m. and say, ‘The bus isn’t here,’” she said.

Sabo said it has been an issue since the start of the school year. The Palm Beach County School District said the bus is supposed to show up at 9 a.m. every morning. Sabo said the bus isn’t at the stop at 9 a.m. about 70 percent of the time.

“I called every day, and they said, ‘Well if you are just patient and give us two weeks the problem will be rectified,’ and now we are into week six and the problem has not been rectified,” she said.

Aric Sabo said he hates standing and waiting for the bus in the morning.

“It’s hot, it’s muggy, and there are mosquitos,” he said.

His bother A.J. said he is tired of being late for school, “Most of the time. Usually, we have 15 minutes maybe, not even.”

Sabo said she did speak with the transportation department Tuesday and she was told a bus would be there on time on Wednesday.

The school district said this was the first time they were made aware of the problem.
