Parking permits for Delray Beach residents are now available for Downtown.
Since the city started charging for parking in Downtown, Risa Sontz said she doesn’t come down as often. She said the parking permit will help.
“Less stress worrying about where you are going to park,” she said.
The permit will cost $12 a year. It will work for both garages, surface lots and certain side streets. The hours are from 12 pm-6 pm.
Sons said she was worried about the 6 pm cutoff.
“I would be much more interested if it was from noon to infinity, but noon to six I would give it serious thought,” she said.
Meredith McLaughlin said she hopes the permits bring more locals downtown.
“I think it is very long overdue,” she said.
McClaughlin owns a business on Atlantic avenues and said the noon to 6 pm times isn’t perfect but it is a start.
The permits are available to apply for online and in person at city hall.
