BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — Boynton Beach police said a confused man, who may be suffering from dementia, was found by two people early Thursday morning.
According to a written statement from police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater, the man, identified at Walter J. Hall, 81, was found walking in the rain on Villa Lane.
The people who found Hall called police because he seemed confused about who and where he was.
Slater said he has a New York identification card and was recently there because officers found receipts in his pockets from a week ago. He also has a Wednesday receipt from a Walmart in Coral Springs, Florida.
Hall told police he has been staying at an assisted living facility, but didn't know which one.
Later in the morning, Slater released a statement that said detectives are in contact with someone who knows Hall and their investigation is ongoing.
