BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — In a small beauty salon in Boynton Beach, you’ll find a love story that sounds more like something you’d find in a movie.

That’s exactly where we found hair extraordinaire, Dayna Charles.

Four years ago, she found herself in her 50’s and looking for romance so she went where many people go in 2020, the internet. “J Date” to be more specific, an online dating service aimed at Jewish singles.

“I decided to venture out and went on j date and looking for someone local because I believe in love and I didn’t give up,” said Charles.

She knew what she didn’t want and eventually started her search for like-minded men.

Charles explains, “I put a limited area because I didn’t want to be in a long-distance relationship this cute guy from Baltimore pops up in my feed and I thought, ehh I’ll check him out. It just blew my mind.”

The cute guy a thousand miles away was Sammy Ominsky.

“We spent a lot of time on FaceTime,” says Ominsky.

They soon realized they had a lot in common including a particular day.

Their birthday Oct. 25, 1966. Same date, same year, just a few hours apart.

“When we discovered we were born on the exact same day it was just kind of we need to check this out,” said Charles.

Long chats led to their hearstrings getting tugged closer together.

The way Charles recalls it, “he flew down here and took the train up from Fort Lauderdale to the Delray Tri-Rail station and I picked him up and I said, oh my life is about to change completely .”

After two years of dating long-distance, Ominsky moved to Boynton Beach to be with Charles. And two years after that, wedding bells.

“I was making plans for the rest of my life and what I was gonna do and they weren’t nearly as awesome as what reality is now,” said Ominsky.

The pandemic threw the couple a little curveball, but they soon found a venue.

The Delray Beach Southbound Tri-Rail platform.

Charles said the spots is sentimental, “We decided to just be romantic and go to the spot we first met and just sneak a quick little wedding.”

Complete with a blessing from the Tri-Rail Executive Director Steve Abrams.

Charles said his reaction was priceless, “Mazel tov I believe in love we’re so excited and before you know it everyone at Tri-Rail just jumped on board.”

Then they decided on the perfect wedding date… their birthday, Oct. 25, 2020.

Ominsky said he picked the right bride.

“She wants to make life better every day and in ways that sit with exactly how I want to make my life better every day, so together we make each other better,” he said.

The way Charles sees it? “It’s a fairytale ending.”

The perfect ending, they never saw coming.
