BOCA RATON, Fla. — New surveillance video shows the mother accused of throwing her baby into a western Boca Raton dumpster inside a beauty supply store just a day before she gave birth.
Palm Beach Sheriff's Office detectives found a receipt in the dumpster the baby was found in and that receipt lead them to Fantastic Beauty Supply.
In the video, you see a woman in a dark, pink shirt that detectives say is Rafaelle Sousa. She is at the cash register and then makes a purchase.
That receipt helped detectives identify Sousa through the stories system. Through a phone number, PBSO was lead back to the apartment complex where the baby was found and search Sousa’s apartment.
Sousa is still in jail and will not have another court date until the end of August.
The baby was reunited with her father last week.
