The Gift of Life Marrow Registryopened up its global headquarters on Tuesday in Boca Raton.
The one-of-a-kind registry will offer stem cell collection at the donation center.
CEO Jay Feinberg said this will help cut down transplant times for those waiting for a bone marrow donor.
Feinberg started Gift of Life after he waited four years to find his perfect match. “Ultimately I found my match out of the last donor drive we did,” he said.
The center offered a relaxing place for donors to sit and even watch TV while they donate. “We want to treat them like the heroes they are,” said Feinberg.
Gift of Life stresses the importance of signing up to be a bone marrow donor. It plans to start accepting patients for the stem cell donations in July.
