TEQUESTA, Fla. — A change to Rt 1 in Tequesta has some drivers and business owners saying it may be time to change things back to the way they were.
“Make it three lanes again that's easy,” says Keith Sutcliffe, owner of Sutcliffe Vision Care.
Sutcliffe says he watches the traffic back up everyday, first going south in the morning and then north in the afternoon.
A few months ago, nearly a mile and half of Rt1 lost a lane in each direction to make room for a bike lane.
"i understand the reason they wanted to do this, my own feeling is it wasn't worth it,” says Rick Bennette.
Tequesta Mayor Abby Brennan, says the change was part of a state program called Complete Streets.
Brennan says she is asking the state to look at the situation on Rt 1, but says she is not in favor of bringing back the third traffic lane at taxpayer expense.
