Lifeguard towers moved at Bathtub Beach

Posted

Officials in Martin County said large waves and extreme high tides have caused excessive erosion at Bathtub Reef Beach.

As a result, Martin County Ocean Rescue has moved its lifeguard towers on top of the dune line.

According to a Thursday news release, this will improve lifeguards' visibility and allow the beach to remain guarded.

For more on conditions at Martin County's four guarded beaches, residents can call the county’s beach hotline at 772-320-3112, which is updated Monday through Friday.
