WPTV anchor Mike Trim flies high at Vero Beach Air Show

Lt. Colonel John Klatt is one of the many pilots featured in this weekend's Vero Beach Air Show.

WPTV morning anchor Mike Trim joined Klatt for a ride in one of the aerobatic planes he uses in shows like the one in Vero Beach this weekend.

Several twists and turns later, Trim said he had a whole new respect for air show pilots.

For Klatt, this weekend will be another chance to inspire.

"As I get a little older and I see that 10-15 year old young man or woman that might be interested in aviation, it's really a wide-open career field so it's fun to inspire the next generation," said Klatt.

Trim said he managed not to lose his lunch during the wild ride on Thursday.

The Vero Beach Air Show is April 21-22 at the Regional Airport.
