The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County will host two workshops on canine massage at the shelter’s Adoption and Education Center in Vero Beach.
Both workshops will use shelter dogs to demonstrate various massage and trust-building techniques.
Classes will provide the opportunity to work toward national certification as a canine massage therapist.
During this three-day workshop, participants will receive hands-on training to learn how to recognize signs of pain and stress, communicate trust and confidence to through the subtle sense of touch.
One workshop will be held from Jan. 28 to Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The other workshop is scheduled for Feb. 1 to Feb. 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Cost is $450 to attend one of the three-day sessions.
