WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A Memphis man was arrested in West Palm Beach early Saturday for human trafficking.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office detectives were called to the LaQuinta Inn in the 5900 block of Okeechobee Boulevard on Friday in regards to a human trafficking complaint.

Detectives learned that an 18-year-old woman was being held against her will.

After several interviews, detectives determined that Derrion Kirby, 30, traveled through several states with at least two female victims, arranging sexual encounters and taking all the money.

Detectives said Kirby would threaten violence and withhold the victims' documents as a means of control.

Kirby was arrested on two counts of sex trafficking and two counts of deriving proceeds of prostitution.

He was booked into the main Palm Beach County jail early Saturday.
