PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Captain America and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman took a break from crime-fighting today to help others deal with their challenges.

Costumed Captain and Founder of Non-Profit, Jeffros Heroes, Jeff Ritter says, “You tell them how strong they are or how awesome they are and it kinda hits them in their heart because it’s their hero or their idol talking to them.”

The room full of students, with a wide range of disabilities, were all smiles and given renewed energy to pursue their goals.

Students like Kinzer Neu-Keller explain, “It’s important to be independent because I learn how to have roommates and get myself an apartment.”

Life skills, like getting an apartment and taking care of yourself, are a big part of what students at Seagull Academy learn every day. Life Skills Instructor at the school. Scott Anderson says all the students are stronger and more capable than they think.

“90 percent of your life is attitude and if you can bring your attitude every day you can really determine your future,” says Anderson.

Seagull Academy is still accepting applicants.
