WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Two people were shot in their vehicle early Sunday outside a downtown West Palm Beach hotel.

West Palm Beach police were called to an overnight shooting in the parking lot of the Marriott in the 1000 block of Okeechobee Boulevard.

Assistant Police Chief Tameca West said a vehicle occupied by two people was leaving the downtown area when someone inside another vehicle pulled up beside them and opened fire.

Both occupants of the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

One of the victims was treated and released at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital for treatment.

West said the two victims were possibly involved in a verbal dispute earlier in the evening with others from downtown.

It is unknown if the two incidents are related.
