City leaders in West Palm Beach just finished a news conference where they vowed to fix the failure that left confidential police information on the city's website for anyone to see.
In response to a records request from WPTV Contact 5 Investigators, the city's spokesperson unknowingly posted emails detailing some of the city's confidential information.
Those details included names of informants, undercover officers, as well as info on drug buys and secret operations with the feds.
The mayor, along with the city's spokesperson who posted the emails, explained the blunder was the result of a system breakdown for handling records requests.
The city has stopped posting records requests online for the time being.
Wpb mayor on releasing police secrets: "we are very upset emails are out in open. We are sorry." City no longer posting requests online.
