A 69-year-old woman from Wellington died Thursday morning in a strange vehicle accident inside her garage.
A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report says Maryann Shingler of Wellington was backing out of her home garage on Middleburg Drive at about 5:37 a.m.
The report says the vehicle was still in reverse when Shingler attempted to get out of her 2017 Lexus sport-utility vehicle for unknown reasons.
The SUV then began to roll back and Shingler was knocked down by the driver's door, which was open.
The driver's side front tire then rolled over onto her and trapped her legs.
PBSO said she managed to call 911, but was pronounced dead at the scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
