A suburban West Palm Beach Walmart was evacuated Sunday after smoke was coming from a Subway restaurant located inside the store.
At 4:30 p.m., Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the Walmart at 4375 Belvedere Rd. after reports of smoke.
Crews say they saw light smoke coming from the air conditioning vents, but there was no fire. Power was shut down, and the smoke was cleared.
The store was evacuated for safety during the operations.
Fire Rescue Capt. Albert Borroto said there was never a fire and business returned to normal.
