PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said a jogger was hit and killed Monday morning in unincorporated West Palm Beach.
PBSO said a BMW M3, driven by 44-year-old Eric Banks, was driving in the 5909 block of Fair Green Rd. in suburban West Palm Beach around 5:35 a.m.
Jose Laboy, 55, was jogging in the direction of the BMW.
According to a crash report, Banks said it was dark and when he suddenly noticed Laboy jogging, he tried to swerve off the road, but struck and killed the jogger.
After the crash, deputies said Banks drove to his house, then came back to the scene and called 911.
PBSO said deputies responded and found Laboy dead in the grass.
