LAKE WORTH, Fla. — The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrested a suspect after a man was shot in Lake Worth just after noon Thursday.
Deputies responded to shots fired in the 1300 block of South Federal Hwy. at 12:17 p.m.
When they arrived, deputies found a man with gunshot(s), who was transported to a local hospital for treatment in critical condition.
Detectives later identified a suspect as 48-year-old Melvin Horne.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Horne and the victim were involved in an altercation before the shooting happened.
Horne is charged with attempted murder. His first appearance is scheduled for Friday morning.
