A 48-year-old woman was hit and killed Thursday night while she was putting groceries in her car at a Greenacres Publix.

A report by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the death occurred at 10:30 p.m. at a Publix located at 4849 South Military Trail.

A 2001 Honda Odyssey, driven by Celavie Ducles, 38, of suburban Lake Worth was parked facing southeast outside the grocery store.

At the same time, a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse was parked in an aisle behind the Odyssey

The PBSO report says that Ducles started her vehicle, and for unknown reasons, reversed at a high rate of speed, causing her vehicle to strike the Eclipse.

A third vehicle, a 2011 BMW 335, was parked in another aisle just north of the Eclipse.

Ducles’ Odyssey then struck the BMW in its right rear.

A pedestrian, identified as Josephine V.  Bogovich, 48 of Lake Worth, was standing at the trunk of her BMW putting groceries away.

PBSO said Bogovich was struck and dragged underneath the Odyssey as it kept reversing until it hit a curb and finally stopped.

Bogovich was pronounced dead at the scene.

PBSO is investigating the case.

Neither Ducles nor her two passengers were hurt.
