PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — The latest appeal by Dalia Dippolito, who was convicted for a second time in 2017 for hiring a hit man to kill her then-husband,has been denied.

Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeal issued a ruling Wednesday upholding that conviction. Dippolito is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence.

The case quickly gained national attention after the popular television show 'COPS' aired an episode of Dippolito's arrest in 2009.

The Boynton Beach woman has been tried three times since her arrest. Her 2011 conviction was overturned on appeal. In 2016, Dippolito was tried again, but jurors were deadlocked on a verdict.

Dippolito's defense appealed her most recent 2017 conviction, questioning certain evidence in the case, as well as whether her arrest was entrapment by police.
