Two aspiring doctors are getting accolades on their new children’s book that explains coronavirus in a way kids can understand.

Devon Scott and Samantha Harris are students at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Scott is also a graduate of Pahokee High School.

Together, the couple wrote, “Why We Stay Home.” It’s a colorful tale between two sisters that offers a child friendly explanation of COVID-19.

The authors wrote the book for all children, but they hope African American children are especially inspired when they see two doctors who are minorities.
