"Every relationship has its ups and downs but not like this... You know what I'm saying? I don't wish this on nobody," says family member Dominique Edwards.

Edwards' family packed the courtroom, telling NewsChannel 5 she is still in a coma fighting to survive.

"They keep her real sedated because the wound is still open right now. So they try to keep her as calm as possible and she actually woke up and she kept asking, is she going to die? Is she going to die? She just want to know is she going to die," says Dominique Edwards.

The violent encounter left Edwards with two broken hips, a broken pelvis, and a serious injury to the back of her head and shoulder.

"I wish my baby would have never jumped out of my car while it was moving, and I wish her family stop with the lies," LiShell Jacobs told WPTV in a phone interview before her arrest.  And she said she would never intentionally hurt her girlfriend.

Jacobs pleads, "That's not true, that's not true! How can I run her over when I'm going forward in a moving vehicle and she jumps out?"

But according to the Florida Highway Patrol, her story has changed, investigators say after her arrest Jacobs admitted to lying about what happened.  Saying she panicked and drove off after hitting Edwards and hearing the screams.

"I just want justice that's it. I just want justice that's it," says Dominique Edwards.
