WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — As we near the peak of hurricane season, the National Hurricane Center on Tuesday is watching a new area of unsettled weather in the central Atlantic for possible development.

Around Sept. 10 is when we typically see an increase in tropical activity.

A tropical wave will approach the Lesser Antilles as we get closer to the weekend or early next week. This wave may become a tropical depression or storm, with minimal chances of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next week.
