This ice cream cake will make the perfect addition to those summer birthday parties. Not only is it full of both ice cream and cake layers, but it’s also multi-colored and basically full of magic, given that it’s unicorn-themed. So, yeah — this dessert packs all of the fun and flavor you could need.

The Marketside Unicorn Ice Cream Cake is available at Walmart stores for $14.98. Understandably, it looks like it’s only available for in-store purchase. But while you won’t be able to order the party dessert online, you can use the online product listing to see if the cake is still available in your local store.

The ice cream cake boasts purple frosting, pink frosting swirls and multi-colored sprinkles on the outside, and when it’s cut open, it reveals layers of cake batter ice cream and confetti cake that’s sure to taste absolutely delicious.

This is one party-ready treat:

Given the popularity of unicorn-themed everything as of late, this cake might prove to be as elusive as an actual unicorn. But if you have a hard time tracking this down in stores, all hope is not lost. Especially considering that you can find everything from unicorn ice cream to unicorn chocolate chip morsels from retailers such as Target and Walmart.

As a substitute for the ice cream cake, you could go with this Unicorn Magic ice cream that’s filled with glitter and candy bits as an extra special treat. It’s available for $3.39 at Target:

You can also find unicorn morsels at Walmart. These vanilla-flavored chips retail for$2.97 for a 10-ounce bag:

If all else fails, you can also try your hand at making a unicorn ice cream cake in your own kitchen. The video below from the Amanda Kate YouTube channel actually proves that it’s not as complicated as it might seem to make your own rainbow-layered ice cream cake from scratch.

The video demonstrates that you can use Halo Top ice cream to transform the dessert into a low-calorie treat. But the same process applies regardless of what kind of ice cream you use, so choose the flavors you’ll enjoy the most!

Then, just use a pie tin to form the ice cream into thin layers. Stack the layers, frost the cake and devour! Who knew it could be this simple?

There’s no going wrong with any of these options. All that’s left to do now is decide which one you’ll be serving up to your party guests.

Enjoy!
