The Miami Dolphins extended their winning streak to six with a 31-24 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

The 49ers entered the game with a nine-game losing streak themselves and have now set a new franchise record with their 1-10 record. No 49ers team had ever lost ten consecutive games prior to Sunday's defeat. Miami meanwhile finds itself at 7-4 and with a solid chance of being a part of the playoffs.

The game did not start out so well for Miami and San Francisco held a 7-0 advantage after one quarter. In the second quarter however, the Dolphins found their footing and posted 14 points to take a lead into the half. After the intermission, Miami intercepted a pass quickly and converted a field goal to extend the lead to ten.

Over the remainder of the game, Miami extended the lead before San Francisco crept closer. The 49ers would bring the game to within one score with roughly two minutes to play. San Francisco would then have a chance to tie the game following the two-minute warning, but came up short.

Ryan Tannehill had a big day to lead his team to the win. Miami's quarterback was 20-30 on his pass attempts and threw three touchdown passes. Tannehill now has eclipsed 100 touchdowns in his five-year NFL career. The QB had a total of 285 yards in the air in the win.

Next Sunday could be a challenging one for Miami as it is scheduled to face the Baltimore Ravens at 1:00 p.m.
