VIDEO: Daredevil performs death-defying somersault at Norwegian landmark

Posted

(NBC) - An 18-year-old performed a risky somersault on top of a Norwegian landmark Monday.

The young man, Brage Hernes Gåsvær, is said to be the first person ever to somersault across the landmark known as "The Svolvaer Goat."

It's a rocky tower on the coast of Norway, more than 1,100 feet above sea level with horns that look like a goat.

Simply jumping between the two goat horns is quite popular, but quite risky.

The 18-year-old was attached with a rope, but he admits his heart was racing when he did the stunt.

The young man is a gymnast and has done somersaults thousands of times before, but probably not this dangerous.

He said he admits his mother was not pleased when he told her what he had done.
