Kids Rule! is a community program created by the National Arts Institute aka Palm Beach Performing Arts Center to provide teenagers, in arts programs, opportunities to give back to our community through volunteer work and powerful messages. Students, from various schools in our community, gain experience for their futures writing, acting, directing, and creating special effects for the Public Service Announcements that promote their message and volunteerism.
The Kids Rule! in the Arts Toy Drive began in 2010. Kids Rule! began hosting events for some of the children that benefit from the toy drive in 2011. Past annual events include a visit to City Place where the children enjoyed train rides and their first experience with “snow.” In 2012, the TV promotional commercial was directed by a NAI team member (Ron Palillo aka Horshack from "Welcome Back Kotter".) That year, children from Achievement Centers for Children and Families were invited for a special afternoon with Kids Rule! volunteers at the Palm Beach Zoo. Children rode the carousel and got up close and personal with some of the zoo’s most interesting animals. In 2013 Kids Rule! brought over 55 preschool children to the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium for an educational afternoon under the stars and touching creatures from the sea. In 2014, we joined the children at Achievement Centera for Children and Families in Delray Beach. A local choir and balloon magician dazzled and Santa brought gifts for all. This year, we are thrilled to host 70 preschool children at Hoffman’s Chocolates Winter Wonderland.
The Palm Beach Performing Arts Center (PBPAC) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to arts, education and youth through unique career-based arts and education programs. The PBPAC MISSION is to build a world-class Palm Beach Performing Arts Legacy to enrich the quality of life. Performing and visual arts’ attention will preserve, nurture, enhance and extend a wide variety of arts forms. Palm Beach residents, VIPs and other dignitaries will excite over world-class musicals and other performing arts. Young and emerging artists will be groomed in performances together with emerging talent and legendary star celebrities. The Palm Beach Performing Arts Center ensures arts access and excitement across culture and generation for the enrichment and enjoyment of all.
