VIDEO: South Florida hotel clerk violently attacked during robbery attempt

DAVIE, Fla. — Law enforcement is looking for a man caught on camera violently attacking a female hotel clerk in Broward County last month.

Police in Davie, Florida, said the armed robbery occurred Dec. 22 at the Woodspring Suites around 4 a.m.

Video shows the man walk through the front lobby door, jump over the front desk counter and then grab the clerk.

Police said at first the attacker demanded she open the safe, however employees do not have the combination. He then demanded that she open the register.

However, a guest then walked down the hallway, and the clerk began to scream for help. After almost a five-minute struggle, the robber jumped back over the counter and fled the scene.

Police described the attacker as a black man in his 20s with a medium build and between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 1 inch. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt with his face covered.
