COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Newly released dash camera video shows a Collier County deputy staying cool and composed under pressure as he helps a woman deliver a baby on the side of the road.

Deputy Robert Pounds stopped a speeding car on Airport-Pulling Road in Naples around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.

"Oh my goodness, the baby's coming out!" a man identified as Wilfred Jean-Louis exclaimed in the dash camera video. "Look, look, look, the baby's coming out, officer! That's the reason why I'm speeding, officer."

Deputy Pounds quickly called for EMS and backup, then grabbed a pair of gloves and a blanket.

"I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do," Jean-Louis said in the video.

Staying calm and collected, Deputy Pounds helped deliver the baby and made sure the mom, Fabienne Georges, was OK and the infant was breathing.

"Congratulations, you got a little girl," Deputy Pounds said in the video.

Minutes later, paramedics arrived on scene, cut the baby's umbilical cord, checked out Georges and her child, then took them to the hospital.

Thank you Deputy Pounds for your service!
